Keith Ellis, Chair

Keith Ellis, Board of DirectorsKeith Ellis has been an executive in the technology industry for over 20 years, whose career started with the industry trend-watcher International Data Corporation.  More recently he has held roles as CEO, COO, board member, investor or mentor to various technology companies. He holds an undergraduate business degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and MSc in Computer Science from Lancaster University for his research in business analysis. 
Keith co-founded and sold a business analysis company. Later, while working for Information Architecture Group, he became a recognized voice in the business analysis community with ~5,000 analysts attending his webinars every month. His study, The Business Analysis Benchmark, quantified for the first time the economic impact of mature business analysis practices and their positive impact on overall project success rates went viral in 2008. Keith has been involved in projects as large as the modernization of unemployment insurance tax and benefit systems for a consortia of U.S. States, and today uses his analyst skills as a central part of his approach to executive leadership.
Keith has been married almost 25 years and you will find him skiing with his daughter in the mountains of Western Canada or teeing it up for an early morning round of golf when he’s not caught up in renovating the house or puttering around his woodworking shop.

Judy Munro, Vice Chair
Judy MunroJudy Munro brings more than 30 years of Senior Management and Board level experience in finance, strategic planning, corporate development, operations and asset management to her present role as Senior Managing Director of Robert Half Executive Search, a division of leading global S&P 500 staffing and recruiting firm, Robert Half. Over the course of her career, she has held Executive and Board positions within public and private company environments, from small entrepreneurial concerns to international multi-divisional operations across a broad cross section of industries, including real estate, hospitality, manufacturing and retail. With a unique blend of industry knowledge, behind- the- desk experience and business acumen, she has assisted numerous organizations with the acquisition of exceptional talent across North America and globally that have enabled them to gain a competitive edge and prosper.   
 Throughout her career, Judy has been actively involved in various charitable and professional activities, and is well versed in Board governance matters having served as a  Board member on several not-for- profit and public company Boards. Since 2014, Ms. Munro has served as a  Director of the  Board of  the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), and is presently Chair of IIBA’s Audit and Finance Committee. She served on the Board of  publicly traded Summit REIT, owner of one of Canada’ largest industrial real estate portfolios, until its $3.3 billion sale and subsequent privatization. Judy was Chair of Summit’s Corporate Governance Committee and a member of its Audit Committee. 
Judy is a long time and active member of the Financial Executives International (FEI), an organization of senior financial professionals representing North America’s leading corporations with 16,000 members. She served on the Board of FEI’s Toronto and Vancouver Chapters for over two decades, chairing various committees and is a Past President of Toronto Chapter. Judy was honoured as the inaugural recipient of the FEI Canada Toronto Chapter Leadership Award in recognition of her active volunteer contributions to the Chapter. 
Judy is a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (With Distinction) from the University of Toronto. 
Jon Buttriss

Jon Buttriss, Board of Directors Jon is recognised as a highly successful international executive leader in the fields of Change Leadership, Digital Transformation and Learning & Development. Over the last 30 years Jon has led successful growth and transformations of commercial, charitable and public-sector organisations through delivering strategic purpose and customer value.

Having built his first computer as a 10-year old, Jon started his working career as a simulations programmer working on a range of industrial and military projects, but quickly moved into the world of service transformation in major multinationals such as Santander, Thomson Corporation, Reed and BCS.
Currently Jon works as a consultant and spends time to coaching and volunteering for community interest organisations that work for the benefit of communities and businesses by providing a range of development services to the most disadvantaged groups.
Outside the boardroom Jon’s interests include Charitable fund-raising especially through Charity Cycle Rides such as London to Paris, Ring of Kerry; Attending (and occasionally playing) all types of sports; Listening to the world, especially to music (although he can’t play a note); and Learning each and every day from Life’s journey.
Barbara A. Carkenord, CBAP
Barbara Carkenord, Board of DirectorsBarbara provides training and consulting to help companies improve their analysis maturity, consistency, and effectiveness. She combines her entrepreneurial and business analysis experience with her love of education promote the development of the business analysis practice.

Barbara is on the board of directors for the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®). During her career Barbara co-founded two successful companies and worked in varied industries including manufacturing, financial services, and software development. Barbara has worked as a leader, mentor, consultant, trainer, and instructional designer. She has written numerous books, articles, blogs, and training manuals all aimed at helping professionals enhance their skills including Seven Steps to Mastering Business Analysis.
Throughout her career Barbara has been passionate about enabling people and organizations to succeed through analysis. Analytical thinking allows organizations to increase their process efficiency and improve the quality of their products. Beginning her career in software development, early assignments allowed her to design systems which streamlined employee processes, increased the quality of information, and improved customer relationships.

Katie Himmelman
Katie Himmelman, Board of DirectorsKatie Himmelman has 20 years of Human Resources experience with a depth of expertise delivering advisory and transactional support to entrepreneurial and larger global organizations in the Financial Services and Technology industries. Katie’s experience spans all areas of Human Resources including strategy development with business leaders, executive compensation & governance, talent & performance management, employee relations, policy development & implementation, benefits, recruitment, global mobility and learning & development. Known as a pragmatic, client-focused business partner, she has supported CEOs, business heads and employees in global organizations across Canada, the US and Europe.
Katie currently works on the Executive Compensation and Governance team at a large Canadian bank and in her spare time enjoys cottaging, waterskiing, snow skiing and spending time with her husband and young daughters.
Michele Maritato, CBAP
Michele Maritato, Board ChairMichele Maritato is an Electronic Engineer graduated from the Polytechnic of Milan. He is also MBA and certified CBAP, PMP, PMI-RMP, PMI-ACP, PSM I, PSPO I, CSM. 
He has over 20 years’ experience in business analysis, project management and corporate restructuring programs, process re-engineering, development of information systems and intelligent networks in the areas of Tourism, Banking, Insurance, Transportation, Telecommunications, Construction, Chemical, Automotive, Consumer Goods and Services. Michele has been a speaker at over 50 International congresses. 
Since 2012, Michele has served as Global Director of IIBA. Michele is a partner of PMProgetti.
Charles (Charlie) Martin
Charles Martin, Board of DirectorsIn his role as a Director in Cisco’s Advanced Services Group, Charlie has been a catalyst for value-added change for many organizations. He brings his customers an expansive knowledge spanning many industries from semiconductor manufacturing to financial services, along with expertise in process innovation within supply chain, operations, sales and IT. Together, this makes him uniquely qualified to guide organizations through their digital transformation journeys. 
Today Charlie and his team focus on designing new business models enabled by the blurring of digital and physical worlds. Using information and analytics introduced by the connection of “things” to drive adaptive processes is a passion of his. His aim is to discover new ways to unlock value for new business opportunities and competitive advantages. 
An eleven-year Cisco veteran, Charlie has championed business enablement both internally, within Cisco IT, and externally, for Cisco clients, across a variety of industries. Prior to Cisco, Charlie held leadership positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, Ernst & Young, and MicroAge in the areas of consulting, operations, finance, supply chain, and IT. He also served as a RosettaNet board member, and as CTO for the Arizona Partnership for the New Economy. 
Charlie holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Arizona State University and is a certified ITIL practitioner in Change, Configuration and Release Management. Martin is a veteran of the US Navy Submarine Service Nuclear Propulsion Program.
Esther Mui

Esther Mui, Board of DirectorsMs Mui has extensive risk management, corporate finance and credit rating experience, with in-depth exposure to international capital markets and diverse industries in North America, Europe and Asia. She has specialized knowledge in energy, transportation and infrastructure sectors, and in dealing with mergers and acquisitions.

She is currently the President of Andest Consulting Inc., an independent business consulting company. Among her assignments, she acted as the Executive Consultant to the CEO for an oil sands/technology company in Calgary, focusing on strategies and debt financing. During 2001-2011, she was the Senior Vice-President, leading a team responsible for the credit rating of the energy sector for DBRS Limited, the world’s fourth largest credit rating agency.

Previously, Ms. Mui was an executive at Scotiabank, responsible for the Europe/Global Transportation risk management team. She was also engaged in part-time business lecturing for a world renowned university. Ms Mui is an MBA, a CPA and CMA.

She was on the board of CMA of Ontario until June 2017, when the entity was merged with two other accountant associations to form the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario  and previously was a long-term board member for a not-for-profit organization. Ms. Mui was a consistent top performer at DBRS and Scotiabank, and a proactive voting member in rating/credit adjudication committees.

Among her achievements, she succeeded in initiating rating coverage of the income trust sector, and similarly in initiating/managing a multi-billion dollar asset-based global transportation portfolio, with no loan loss experience. She excels in establishing client relationships at senior executive levels, and with the investor and media. Ms Mui also has the ability to train and motivate staff to reach new heights, and to pool resources from different functional/regional units for the common good of the organization. 

Heather Mylan-Mains, CBAP
Heather Mylain-Mains, Board of DirectorHeather is from Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up there, pursued her bachelors and graduate degrees there and stayed to raise her family. She is a stimulus for change as a mom, a business analyst consultant, Past President of Central Iowa Chapter, Deputy VP Chapters IIBA and was Volunteer VP Chapters, IIBA. 
Heather has worked as a Business Analyst long before there was a formal title. For the past 17 + years, she has worked with a variety of project teams to identify and solve many problems and challenges in the financial services, insurance and higher education industries. Projects have included new system development, process improvements, COTS implementations as well as assessing, leading and coaching other business analysts. 
She has a passion for sharing the power of the Business Analyst role and promoting the importance of that role in every business. She applies that passion to the classroom teaching students through B2T Training and speaking at events. Heather is a natural collaborator and engages people at all levels in organizations. She leads teams to success through focusing on the organization strategy and understanding the real problems to be solved. 
She has been fortunate to work through all the processes of business analysis in the SDLC and be able to participate in many roles in projects. There is no part of the RACI matrix she has not been responsible for! 
Heather has a BA in Accounting from Grand View College and an MBA from Drake University and is a CBAP®.
Shantha Maheswari
Shantha Mahewsari, Board of DirectorsShantha Maheswari is a Managing Director leading Cross OG Industry Practice and Inclusion and Diversity for Advanced Technology Centers in India.
For over 20 years, Shantha has led and advised client transformations in her leadership roles of Business Portfolio, Sales, Strategy M&A, Global Large Deal Executive, Innovation and Delivery across Retail Consumer Goods, Travel, Industrial, Health and Life Sciences industries globally. Shantha believes in creating a new legacy of business growth sustained by value creation and people leadership. She is passionate on people transformation, nurtures underlying principles of diversity, inclusion and mentorship to evolve them as successful leaders. She is noted for her skills as a strategic transformation change agent, underpinned by her defining quality of being an ‘ambitious adventurer’.
As a public speaker, Shantha has been on many panel discussions on topics such as ‘Work Life balance’, ‘Career Back to Work’, ‘Inclusion and Diversity’ organized by associations such as Avtar foundation, NASSCOM, many Corporate Diversity Boards and STEM events. She is also active industry speaker and panelist at multiple industry summits. She is also an active blogger and develops thought leadership point of views on next generation technologies.
Shantha is a Stanford certified Program Manager, Revenue Storm assessed Client Partner, Shipley certified large deal assessor, and a recipient of CEO awards for high performance. She holds an Executive MBA from Symbiosis, Pune and an Engineering degree from PSG College, Coimbatore.
Shantha is a recipient of the World Women Leadership award for exemplary leadership and has also contributed to the book “Innovating Women' by Vivek Wadhwa, a renowned global thinker. She is an avid practitioner of Yoga and does experiential learning for kids when she finds time.
Dave Polsky
Dave Polsky, Board of DirectorsDave Polsky currently works as a CIO for a Canadian insurance provider, overseeing all information systems, applications and infrastructure. As a seasoned IT veteran with over 25 years of experience working with Fortune 1000 companies, David excels at leveraging technology to ensure clients and employers achieve their overall business objectives. 
David brings a diverse technology background with strengths in infrastructure and operations, application management, IT security, process optimization, B2B eCommerce, and mobile applications. His experience in both the public and private sectors combined has given him a keen understanding of how to support operations and requirements in different business environments. As a co-founder of a mobile and web applications development company David understands the entrepreneurial nature of technology and the importance of strategic direction. 
David holds a B. Comm. Honours degree, has attained a CISSP designation, is a Drexler Certified Facilitator, and completed a Supply Chain Management program at Michigan State University.
