With Global Business Analysis Day fast approaching, it’s once again time to celebrate the diverse global business analysis community!

On November 1, 2023, we’re hosting a 24-hour free, virtual event featuring leading speakers, networking opportunities, recognition ceremonies, and more. It will begin in Asia Pacific, moving westward as we connect with chapters in India, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

You can register for it now.

As part of the event, IIBA’s annual awards ceremony will recognize contributions from leaders globally who have advanced business analysis in their communities. There are three main award categories: Chapter, Volunteer, and Corporate.

In anticipation of the big day, let’s look at how IIBA celebrates the world’s most remarkable chapters.

The Chapter Awards

With over 120 chapters worldwide, IIBA recognizes the dedication and success of their leaders through the annual Chapter Awards.

All IIBA chartered chapters worldwide are eligible for the Chapter Awards Program, administered by IIBA’s Global Chapter Council (GCC). The awards celebrate the achievements of our chapters and acknowledge leaders and innovators within their communities.

The Chapter Awards have eight subcategories (see below). To treat each chapter in an unbiased and transparent manner, IIBA implements specific criteria to determine the award’s Finalists and Winners.

They have aligned the awards with the Chapter Core Concept Model to highlight key areas that chapters should focus on to succeed.

For a full list of the chapters that earned the award last year (as well as those who were nominated), please visit the Chapter Awards webpage. You can also watch last year’s virtual award ceremony for a taste of what’s to come this year.

  • Business Partner – Palmetto, Saudi Arabia, South Africa
  • Chapter Sustainability – Australia, Brasil, South Africa
  • Community Outreach & Engagement – Brasil, Research Triangle Park, South Africa
  • Delivering Membership Value – Brussels, Hartford, Orange County

BE BOLD. GET INSPIRED. TAKE ACTION.

Being a “simplifier” can be really complicated.

In January, the IIBA DC Metro Chapter hosted Delvin Fletcher, President and CEO of IIBA, for a discussion on Sense and Respond – Business Analysis in a Decade of Change. During his keynote, Delvin stressed a multitude of themes; and, as always, at least one of them kept me thinking. In particular, he highlighted the concept of "simplifiers over complicators". In this context, he referenced business analysts as simplifiers.
