Take the Global State of Business Analysis Survey!

For the seventh year running, IIBA is reaching out to business analysis professionals across the world to gather insights on everything from education and experience to specialization and career development.

The data we garner will help us better understand the needs of the profession while telling the global story of business analysis amid profound changes in business and society.

The survey results will inform IIBA’s annual Global State of Business Analysis Report—and your voice is a critical piece of the puzzle.

Share Your Perspective

Distributed today, the 2023 Global State of Business Analysis Survey is intended for all individuals who are practising business analysis.

Taking around 15 minutes to complete, it will inform the Global State of Business Analysis Report, which provides data-driven analysis and best practices for business analysis professionals around the world.

Complete the survey now.

The survey contains demographic questions on the average age, education level, years of experience, salary, reporting areas, and industries of business analysis professionals, among other important indicators.

It also seeks information on the skills and competencies most important to your work and the role business analysis plays in cybersecurity, agile analysis, business data analytics, strategic initiatives, and product ownership analysis.

Responses are anonymous and confidential, and the data will be reported in aggregate with that of other participants.

Once you have completed the survey, we encourage you to share it with your business analysis peers.

The survey will close on August 20, 2023.

Why It Matters

Business analysis plays a crucial role in today's business world, as it helps organizations make informed decisions when evaluating business problems and opportunities.

The discipline allows organizations to identify potential risks and opportunities, optimize their resources, reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve customer satisfaction.

Business analysis also helps organizations stay competitive and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment, fostering innovation and growth to meet the evolving needs of customers and the market.

But none of this can be effective if organizations aren’t aware of the value of business analysis and the people who practise it.

This year, the Global State of Business Analysis Report will cover the current state of business analysis, career development and emerging trends, and the role of business analysis within organizations.

It will provide a summary that professionals can reference when advocating the value of business analysis in their organizations and trending areas of specialization for career growth opportunities.

With global participation in the survey, IIBA can provide unique regional insights that help as many professionals and organizations as possible take an informed look at salary, role maturity, certification, core competencies, and much more.

The report is an invaluable resource that helps business analysis professionals and organizations alike drive better business outcomes—and it all starts with you.

Be heard! Complete the survey today.

*Participants who complete the survey can enter to win one of 10 business analysis-themed mugs!
