It's conference season!
With BBC 2020 on the horizon and numerous other events all over the world for IIBA Chapters, it's an exciting time to learn something new in business analysis.
If you're interested in setting up your own events, don't forget to take advantage of your Chapter's zoom accounts. Tip: check your waiting room to ensure you've let all your attendees into your virtual event.
The window for the annual awards submissions has come to an end with a lot more Chapters and Volunteers open for the awards than ever before. This year we will see a truly global representation in both categories. Thank you to everyone that nominated a volunteer, and thanks goes out to all our Chapters for the amazing things you accomplished in this incredibly trying year. Your work has not gone unnoticed! On Tuesday October 20, we will officially announce the finalists for the Volunteer and Chapter Awards before our special virtual presentation that will take place on Monday November 2nd.
The harmonization program has kicked into high gear and we are close to recommending a fee change for Global IIBA members that includes Chapter fees. We also plan on revamping how we determine to which Chapter members belong and what system changes are required to make this happen. Tentatively speaking, these should all be completed before BBC. From there, we need to work on the new finance processes involved in disbursing payments as well as the recommended processes for Chapters to reconcile the payments and membership lists. We don’t have a defined date for go-live just yet, but we are now aiming for the beginning of 2021. Stay tuned!
The Inside Look will replace the Chapter updates that we provide to the regional calls. We were often just repeating what was said and we want our communications to be much more deliberate to you. Sending the same message twice using the same medium didn’t make much sense. We can also archive previous versions that we’ve never done before. We’re also removing the need to login to get the information. We are trying to simplify things for you!
On behalf of everyone at IIBA, thank you. Thank you for continuing to work with your local business analysis community. Thank you for your dedication to business analysis. Thank you for supporting IIBA. Know that you are appreciated in everything you do!
As you may know BBC 2020 [IIBA’s official conference] is introducing some all-new exciting virtual features. The unexpected benefits of a virtual conference include no travel costs, more access anywhere in the world (including recordings for those of us in opposing timelines) and lots of opportunities opened up for attendees to share experiences, questions, and solutions with peers. To learn more find out what else is new for virtual BBC.
We are encouraging our staff, Chapter Leaders, and Board Members to update your email signature and share our BBC LinkedIn banner, upcoming blogs, hashtag #BBCcon, and links to create even more excitement around this key event and help us drive registrations.
The Business Analysis Competency Model Digital Interactive Edition for Members is now available! This newest interactive edition is the latest edition of digital tools we have been working on will ensure our Members have the ability to search, and bookmark relevant information in the Competency Model quickly from their mobile, tablet, or desktop.
All year long, many business analysts had had to pivot when COVID came along. Not only working from home, virtual meetings, virtual scrabble, happy hour, and so on. The Awards Presentation has always been virtual. No pivot is needed for the broadcast.
The broadcast will take place on Monday, November 2nd, at 7:00 pm EST. Start planning your Chapter Watch parties now! Since IIBA is global, maybe some of you can have a slumber party if the time difference makes it broadcast in the middle of the night.
It will be great if many of the chapters can have a face to face chapter watch party. There are so many sports that won't be able to play or have a championship game. We are IIBA, and our party goes on. We all need to celebrate our AWESOME Volunteers, Members, and Chapter Leaders!
Is your Chapter interested in creating a professional translation of the BABOK Guide like the Russian Chapter? If you are, we have an exciting new tool coming for help our chapters in translating our intellectual property.
We are very interested in getting your feedback on translations your Chapter could champion. We're not asking for commitments at this point, and just want to gague our Chapter's demand for different languages.
If you're interested, please contact us at email@example.com.
