IIBA exams are offered as online remote proctored exams that require a desktop or laptop, an internet connection, a working webcam, and microphone.
The Online Remote Proctored Exam Experience
IIBA’s online remote proctored certification exams allow you to take any IIBA exam securely online, on your schedule and from the convenience of your home. As work environments may have firewalls set up, we advise NOT to use your work office or computer for taking your exam. A simple check-in procedure, ID verification and monitoring by PSI-certified proctors ensures the integrity and security of the exam.
Prepare in advance and know what to expect on exam day. Use these key tips and practices for a smooth, stress-free online exam experience. In addition to being offered in the remote online proctored format, CBAP® and CCBA® exams are also offered at PSI Exam Centers.
Note: * Passing the compatibility check does not necessarily indicate that you will not experience issues during the time of your exam. The compatibility check does not verify firewall and VPN settings. In areas where governments have the ability to block access to cross-border websites and meter internet traffic you may experience additional restrictions that cannot be captured by the compatibility check.

If special accommodation is required, contact IIBA certification@iiba.org prior to scheduling your exam.
A modification to the exam procedure may be requested due to disability, handicap, or other condition that may affect the ability to sit for the exam. Special exam accommodation requests should be reasonable and not compromise the validity and reliability of the exam.
For special accommodations request:
Do not yet schedule your exam
Provide a note from a doctor or health care professional - do not provide x-rays, lab or test results
Add your note to Google Drive, iCloud or a dropbox, and email the link to certification@iiba.org
If you have to reschedule or cancel an exam, include the exam date and the desired exam date in your email as well
The note should support the need for your special accommodation and include:
The diagnosis of your health condition or disability that significantly impairs your ability to read or write the exam, or any other related skills required to complete the examination
The specific recommendation for your special accommodation(s)
Once your request has been approved, you will receive an email from IIBA on next steps to follow to schedule your exam.
In addition to being offered in the Online Remote Proctored format, the CBAP® and CCBA® exams are also offered at PSI Test Centers. These are the ONLY two IIBA exams offered at Test Centers.
1. Consult the PSI Exam FAQs for specific requirements that relate to the testing experience, arrival time, things that you can/cannot bring into the Test Center and the questions the Test Center Administrator (TCA) will ask you.
3. Review the following Security Wanding Protocol:
Effective April 1, 2024, the check-in at Test Centers will include a required metal detection wanding inspection by trained Test Center Administrators. This new protocol is designed to ensure that no unauthorized devices or items enter the testing area. Those who refuse the wanding protocol (and have not been granted an exemption) will be required to reschedule their exam.
If the wand indicates an alert:
This is to be expected for those with metal implants (e.g. hips, knees).
A standard physical security check will follow (pull out pockets, roll up sleeves).
If an alert is still given upon rescan, and the test taker states that they have no item to disclose, they will be allowed to test and monitored closely throughout the exam.
If a prohibited device is found in a test taker’s possession:
The test taker will be asked to explain why the device is in their possession.
PSI’s security team will determine whether the test taker can sit for the exam.
For intentional acts that compromise test security, PSI will file a security incident report and notify IIBA.
For those with medical devices:
The wands are American Heart Act Certified. Per PSI, they will not interfere with or harm the operation of any medical device.
Test takers who wish to request an exemption to the scan must provide the TCA with a note from a healthcare provider granting this exemption and complete an attestation form at the Test Center.
The TCA will document the exemption in a standard incident report.
Login up to 30 minutes before start time to begin check-in procedures. Use your IIBA credentials and select Certification > My Certifications. Select the Schedule and Pass Exam button. This will take you automatically to the PSI exam page.
Review the information (security procedures, acceptable identification, exam instructions) to ensure you are set up properly to launch your exam.
The Proctor will guide you through the process and check you in at your scheduled start time.
