International Women's Day: Empowering Women in Business Analysis

International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the incredible achievements of women all around the world, but it’s also a chance to reflect on how much further we still need to go.

This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, encourages us to not just talk about change, but to take deliberate, bold steps toward it—especially when it comes to achieving gender equity in the workplace. In business analysis, women have been at the forefront of innovation, overcoming barriers and leading change in ways that benefit organizations, industries, and communities alike.

As we prepare to honour this important day, we want to celebrate the amazing women who continue to shape the business analysis profession. At its core, business analysis is about identifying solutions, creating opportunities, and driving organizations toward smarter strategies and better outcomes. Women in this field bring invaluable perspectives—navigating challenges with resilience, breaking down barriers, and leading transformative change. Their stories not only inspire but remind us of how far we’ve come and how much further we can go if we continue to #AccelerateAction.

We’re thrilled to invite you to join us on March 12 at noon ET (UTC-4) for a special webinar—Empower & Elevate: Women Driving Change in Business Analysis. This event will feature an incredible panel of thought leaders: Priyanka Agrawal, Deirdre Caren, Angela Wick, and Bindu Channaveerappa. These women have each taken unique paths to success, and they’re here to share their stories, struggles, and strategies for navigating the business analysis world. Learn from some of the best in the field and gain insights on how to push through obstacles and create a lasting impact in your career.

Let’s take a sneak peek into some of the key themes we’ll be discussing during the webinar. Each is focused on how women in business analysis can empower themselves and others to reach new heights.

Inspiring Career Journeys

For many women in business analysis, the journey to success isn’t a straight line. It’s filled with twists, turns, challenges, and even setbacks. But these women persist. Through their passion for learning and a commitment to their work, they’ve created their own path forward.

In this webinar, our panellists will share their personal journeys—how they got started in the field, what obstacles they’ve faced, and what helped them succeed. Their stories will inspire you to keep pushing forward and embrace every lesson that comes your way.

Leveraging Networks and Community

It’s often said that mentorship and community are key to career growth. But for women, building networks that offer both support and advocacy is critical. The panel will explore how women can leverage these networks to open doors, find mentorship, and build communities that have their backs.

Making connections is only half the battle. The real challenge lies in finding people who will challenge you, uplift you, and guide you as you navigate your career. By nurturing these relationships, women can create powerful support systems that will help them succeed.

Authentic Leadership

Managing teams and getting results are important, but authentic leadership goes one step further by emphasizing integrity, transparency, and empathy.

As women in leadership roles in business analysis, our panellists will share their perspectives on what it means to lead authentically. For women, this often means embracing your true self, trusting your instincts, and inspiring others to do the same. Authentic leadership can create an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to bring their best selves to the table.

Building Confidence and Self-Advocacy

Let’s face it—advocating for yourself in the workplace can be tough (speaking from personal experience here). But it’s one of the most important skills for women to develop.

In the webinar, we’ll discuss strategies for building confidence, speaking up for your ideas, and owning your achievements. It’s all about recognizing your worth and finding the courage to express it. Over time, and with practice, confidence becomes second nature, and women can step into their power to advocate for themselves in every situation.

Embracing AI and Innovation in Business Analysis

The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming every industry, including business analysis. For women, this shift presents a unique opportunity to embrace change and leverage AI to create greater value for their organizations.

During the webinar, our speakers will discuss how AI is reshaping the business analysis landscape and how women can harness these innovations to lead the charge. Whether it’s through process automation or predictive analytics, AI is revolutionizing the way we work. Women who embrace this change will lead the way in shaping the profession's future.

Driving Change in Cybersecurity

With cybersecurity becoming an increasingly urgent priority for businesses, women in business analysis have a unique role to play in strengthening these practices. The panellists will discuss how women can contribute to this critical area by advocating for stronger, more secure systems.

As digital security continues to grow in importance, women specializing in cybersecurity analysis will be key players in protecting organizations and ensuring the safety of clients and customers.

Creating Impact and Driving Change

Women have always been catalysts for change, whether in their careers, communities, or organizations. In this session, we’ll explore how women can drive meaningful change in their organizations and the broader business analysis profession.

By challenging the status quo, offering fresh perspectives, and identifying areas for improvement, women can leave a lasting impact that creates more inclusive and equitable workplaces.
