“In the Life of a BA” – Building Customer Centric Teamwork

Hearing the stories of others helps us to identify, to learn and it increases our confidence. When we hear a story of how someone else worked through a challenge or tried something new it brings life and integrates humanness into our day to day activities. It stimulates us to think differently and to think of possibilities that may exist in our own situations. It may give us a new idea to apply to our situation. It may help us to realize that our current challenge is not so unique. It may give us the courage to take a new direction. It may just be a nice break in the midst of our workday and give us a smile.

“In the Life of a BA” is IIBA’s new scenarios-based series that tells the inspiring stories of BA’s, like you, sharing their experiences and learnings in the world of business analysis. They are memorable narratives that bring to life the application of the BABOK® Guide and other IIBA guides. These real and relevant stories include an additional benefit to the viewer. Throughout the story are practical links to individual Technique Guides and Templates that provide members with a quick start to learn or apply a specific technique.

The topic-accessible scenarios will draw you in and help prompt self-reflection. As the BA tells their story they share how they applied their learnings and it gives you [the reader] a real example that you can take what you want from it to apply to your work.

Our first story shares the experience of Glenn Hughes, CBAP and Senior Business Analyst. Glenn works in a highly regulated, primarily waterfall environment. He has learned that business analysis agility applies not only to Agile project work but also benefits work in any SDLC. Read Glenn’s “In the Life of a BA” story and experience the techniques he applied to turn around a challenging situation.

Telling our stories is an amazing way for us to share and learn from our own experiences. We’d love to tell your story. Connect with us here  if you have a story that you’d like to tell.
