In Memoriam

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dr Cecily Macdougall.

A champion of change, in all forums whether it be meetings, workshops, mentoring, leadership discussions, public keynote speaking or informal conversations over a cup of tea – all were punctuated with her sharp intellect, insightful wisdom, authenticity and generosity of spirit. A kind and insightful professional. A remarkable person. Above all she demonstrated determination throughout her career and, as her career grew, this courage to lead large scale transformations.

Cecily will be best known throughout the business analysis community for her work in authoring IIBA’s Strategy to Execution Framework. The framework enables those engaged in strategic business analysis create strategies for change and design initiatives that are sustainable throughout the organization to enable successful business led transformation.

After a 5-year battle with illness, during which she managed to complete a Doctorate of Business Administration, author two books and anchor a Strategy to Execution keynote at BBC San Antonio in 2018, Cecily passed on July 13, 2022. Courage personified.

Cecily leaves a lasting legacy embracing family values, professional integrity and her Strategy to Execution Framework for industry to build upon.
