As a business analyst, you are a leader. You may be in people leadership; you may be in Chapter leadership; and you most definitely are in THOUGHT leadership. As such, if you are like me, you are continually evaluating your performance and seeking new ways to improve and expand your approach. The annual Leadership Series is just the opportunity!

Each year, we are fortunate to learn from a panel of experts through this series. And, this year, we will be having two! Season Six features five leaders from North America, focusing on the book “Leading the Unleadable: How to Manage Mavericks, Cynics, Divas, and Other Difficult People” by Alan Willett.

The series begins Tuesday, May 25th, with sessions throughout the summer. Join our presenters in each session as they break down core themes of the book. If you are interested in reading along, get your free copy from the IIBA Digital Library!

About the Book

Chances are, in your leadership role, you have come across an individual or two that you might quietly consider “unleadable”. This could be a fellow team member, a business stakeholder, or a volunteer. Regardless of the context, you have likely reflected on what could you do / could you have done to reach this person. After all, no one fundamentally wants to be a problem; we all want to successfully contribute to results. So, as a leader, how can you tap into that underlying desire? “Leading the Unleadable: How to Manage Mavericks, Cynics, Divas, and Other Difficult People” by Alan Willett is good reinforcement on those techniques and strategies we can employ to get the best out of our team.
