The world is becoming more global, and so are we at IIBA®. Since 2003, we have supported professionals working in business analysis and related business roles by maintaining global standards for the practice. Today, our global presence connects over 30,000 Members and certification holders from 160 countries, 1,300+ volunteers worldwide, and more than 600 Corporate, Academic and Training partners. This growing network allows us to bring practitioners and business leaders together to advance the practice.

IIBA has expanded focus to become more global. Find out how we’re accomplishing this.

With the pandemic shutting down in-person events, business professionals had to pivot to virtual meetings and events. The result? Chapter members were able to participate in meetings and events hosted by Chapters in different regions and time zones to share knowledge and experiences with fellow Members from any of IIBA’s 120 plus Chapters. This has opened up even more ways for professionals in the business analysis community to connect and grow their networks.

Here’s three ways we’re connecting more with the business analysis community.

1. Language Options for Exams

Providing additional language options for key exams helps open fresh opportunities for certification. IIBA's latest exam translation is the Entry Certificate in Business Analysis™ (ECBA™). Now available in Standard French . The translation of the ECBA exam offers French speakers the option to prepare and sit the exam in their native language. Now, candidates will have access to a variety of certification resources in French, such as the:

  • Core Certification Handbook
  • ECBA Application Process
  • IIBA® Guide to Online Proctored Exams and more!

The Standard French translation is the second exam translation of ECBA and joins the French Canadian ECBA, which launched in 2021.

Did you know IIBA’s CBAP is available in Japanese? It has been available to the business analysis community for the past four years. There’s more to come with translations of certification exams – stay tuned!

2. Translations of Key Publications

We have been working on the translation of key publications to offer these materials in more languages. IIBA has just launched a translated version of the BABOK® Guide in Standard French. This translation enables professionals to understand the foundational knowledge of business analysis in their native language.

In 2021, we released the French-Canadian translation of the BABOK® Guide. Currently, the BABOK Guide is available in seven languages, English, Chinese, French-Canadian, French, German, Japanese, Russian, and we're just getting started!

3. Participation in Global Business Analysis Events

In 2021, IIBA hosted Vive l’analyse, a three-day, inaugural conference of the French-speaking business analysis community. Vive l’analyse was a thrilling experience!

The conference consisted of sessions and workshops relevant to project managers, decision-makers, agile professionals, students, and more. The conference is still available on-demand through March 15, 2022. Find out more about the on-demand sessions here
