While there are some great new features to be excited about in The Business Analysis Standard, here’s what has not changed:
At this time, there has been no change to the text or concepts found in BABOK® Guide.
It’s recommended that anyone studying for certifications should reference the BABOK® Guide and the appropriate IIBA® Certification Guides for detailed information.
IIBA’s Business Analysis Standard has been created for the global business community. As the foundation for effective business analysis, it will be available to everyone at no cost.
Everyone can access a complimentary PDF copy of The Business Analysis Standard via IIBA’s website at www.iiba.org/TheStandard.
No, The Business Analysis Standardwill not impact current IIBA certification exam requirements or existing Endorsed Education Provider, Academic or IIBA® Chapter course materials.
At this time, The Business Analysis Standard will not be available in IIBA’s KnowledgeHub, however there are plans to integrate it as an interactive digital offering in the KnowledgeHub in the near future.
Updating the content found within the BABOK® Guide starts with The Business Analysis Standard. “The Standard” is our first step towards connecting the BABOK® Guide and IIBA's business analysis tasks, techniques, and practices. The Business Analysis Standard will drive future changes to content related to the BABOK® Guide and we plan to have a completed roadmap developed, with input from our community, by mid-2023.
The business analysis community shared a need for new tools that better represent the evolution of business analysis. The Business Analysis Standard takes the previous IIBA® Global Business Analysis Core Standard, to new levels by providing the foundational concepts of business analysis in a refreshed, easy-to-use format. In order to provide greater depth to the evolving business analysis profession, a higher-value standard has been established that better represents modern business analysis and helps professionals achieve better business results.
