Professional Development Requirement

You must have the minimum number of hours of professional development in the time frame listed for the certificate or certification level.

NOTE:  

  • An initial entry must be completed and saved before more entries can be added.

  • Professional development outside of the time period will not be considered.   

  • 1 hour of classroom/contact time = 1 hour of Professional Development.

  • Professional Development hours may be reported in quarter (¼) hour increments after one full hour. If the fractions of Professional Development add up to less than an hour, they do not qualify for any credit.

 

ECBA requirements

Professional development for ECBA™ must be either one or a combination of the following:

 

  • Classroom and online courses (e.g. EEP endorsed courses)
  • Webinars - live or recorded (e.g. IIBA webinars)
  • Conference track sessions, tutorials, keynotes & workshops
  • Chapter events (i.e. presentations, study groups, workshops, conference days)
  • Self -directed learning (i.e. reading/reviewing the BABOK® Guide v3)

 

NOTE: The content of these professional development activities must be aligned with the BABOK® Guide v3.

CCBA® and CBAP® requirements

Professional development for CCBA® and CBAP® must:

 

  • directly relate to business analysis, underlying competencies, or perspectives as defined in the BABOK® Guide,
  • be a session or course with a moderator, facilitator, or instructor who leads an individual or group through the material,
  • have a measurable objective(s) that apply directly to business analysis (for example, changing behaviour or improving skills),
  • include opportunities for students to interact and ask questions,
  • include opportunities for students to practice the task or objective being presented, and
  • include an assessment that identifies areas of improvement to the student.

 

NOTE: IIBA endorsed courses as per the Endorsed Education Provider (EEP™) program meet the above criteria.
