Step 2: Registering for the exam

In order to register for the exam, you must have an approved application. If you require special accommodations for the exam, refer to the special accommodations section.


NOTE: The name on your ID MUST be the exact same name that appears on your exam registration confirmation email AND the same name you used to apply online with IIBA.


Registering for the ECBA exam

The ECBA exam is a live, web delivered exam that you write from a desktop computer or laptop. When you take this exam, you must have:


  • an internet connection that meets the minimum requirements,
  • a working webcam and microphone to verify your identity, and
  • government-issued identification (your photo will be taken at the start of the exam).


To register for the exam, do the following:


  1. Pay the exam fee.

NOTE: A payment confirmation message is sent to you by email within one business day. If you have not received this, check your email junk/spam folder before contacting

  1. Verify your WebDelivery compatibility.

NOTE: You must confirm your WebDelivery compatibility prior to your exam date.

  1. Create an account at

NOTE: You must use the same email address listed as your primary address on your IIBA profile.

  1. Schedule your exam by doing the following:

    1. In the Search Here field, type ECBA, select the exam name from the list of results, and then click Next.

    2. Select a date and time for your exam.

    3. Agree to PSI's Terms and Conditions on the website.


NOTE: If you do not pass the exam, you will not be reimbursed the exam fee.

Registering for the CCBA® or CBAP® exam

To register for either the CCBA® exam or the CBAP® exam, do the following:


  1. Pay the exam fee.

  2. In the confirmation email that's sent to you, note your Eligibility ID number at the bottom of the email.

NOTE:  If you have not received your payment confirmation email within one business day of payment, check your email junk/spam folder before contacting

  1. Go to the Prometric website and schedule a location and date for your exam.


NOTE: If you do not pass the exam, you will not be reimbursed the exam fee.


Special Accommodations

A modification to the IIBA exam administration procedure may be requested due to disability, handicap, or other condition that may affect the ability to sit for the exam. Special exam accommodation requests should be reasonable and not compromise the validity and reliability of the exam.


If you require special accommodations to take the exam, please email and provide the proper written documentations (scanned/PDF format) from an appropriate health care professional, such as a doctor’s note, to support the need for your special accommodations. This documentation must include the reason (for example, diagnosis of your health condition or identifies the disability that significantly impairs your ability to arrive at, read or write the exam, or any other related skills required to complete the examination) and a specific recommendation for your special accommodations.


NOTE:  Do not pay your exam fee or schedule your exam until your request has been approved by IIBA via email.
