Shane is the Agile Practice Lead and Chief Knowledge Engineer for SoftEd, a training and consulting company based in New Zealand. He has over 30 years’ experience working on software-intensive products across a wide range of roles. He led the team who produced the Agile Extension to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge™, was a member of the core team who produced the latest version of  BABOK® Guide. In 2011 Shane was elected to the board of the Agile Alliance. He is the lead editor for Process & Practice on He is passionate about the value that is derived when we bridge agile and business analysis thinking.

Ellan Kay Young
Ellan contracts as a BA handyman, tinker and utility handyman. She excels in challenging environments where she can make use of her strengths in facilitation, team building, and communication across boundaries; her recent work has been in areas of waterfall and agile transition / learning. Ellan also facilitates courses for Software Education in Team Leadership, BPM and Business Systems Analysis. In the recent past, she was a contributor to the IIBA BABOK® Guide v3 and to the ICAgile BA & Value Management certification track. Ellan holds a BS in Computer Science and MS in Safety & Systems Management.
