The BAs Requirements Analysis Constant - A Standard Model for Eliciting, Analyzing and Communicating Requirements

Business Analysts should not elicit requirements directly, that is to say the business analyst should not simply ask “what do you require stakeholder?” Requirements should be formed or constructed into S.M.A.R.T declarative statements using the wants, desires, problems, issues, threats, opportunities, constraints and the like that the BA discovers throughout the entire engagement process. Requirements are therefore reasonably induced from the discoveries mentioned above. To accomplish this, the analyst must examine information within a given problem space at various focal-points, perspectives and depths. Discussed as a proof, The BAs Requirements Analysis Constant is a new paradgim that business analysts, project managers, testers or anyone who needs to elicit, discuss, analyze and communicate requirements in a predictable and repeatable way. Using an easy to follow formula teams can agree to approach requirements the same way, at the same time, all the time.
