Best Practices for Better Business Analysis™

Do you have an idea for a paper that can provide practical advice to other members? Would you like to gain professional feedback from a panel of your peers? Would you like your ideas to become part of the IIBA® knowledge base as supporting knowledge to the BABOK® Guide and its extensions?

IIBA® is calling for proposals for articles to include in the Best Practices for Better Business Analysis peer reviewed journal series. All proposals will be anonymously assessed by a panel of reviewers to select those for publication.

Consider such topics as:
  • how to define value for your stakeholders
  • relationships with other key stakeholders, like sponsors and project managers
  • business analysis for business intelligence or decision management
  • requirements for COTS, SaaS, or cloud applications
  • tools and techniques for enterprise and business architecture
  • analyzing and improving business processes
  • tips on analyzing your environment, situation, and context
  • how to bring out the best in business analysis practices on an agile team
These are just a few topics to get you thinking. We also want to hear your innovative and fresh ideas that business analysts can apply in their daily practice.

If you have an idea for an article, we request that you submit a one page outline of your paper in the following format:
  • Description - Include an overview of the topic of your article and why this material is relevant to business analysis practitioners.
  • Learning Objectives - Include what a business analyst will be able to do differently once reading your paper.
  • Key Arguments - Include the significant points and arguments of your paper and how business analysis practitioners can use this information in practice.
To submit your proposal, visit the Volunteer page and follow the application instructions.
