Executive Leadership Team
The Executive Leadership Team (ELT) is responsible for the
day-to-day management of
IIBA. Each member of the team has primary responsibility for a key
stakeholder
relationship as well as a portfolio of products and services.

Biographies of the Senior Leadership Team
President, Kathleen
Barret
In June of 2009, Kathleen Barret became International
Institute of Business
Analysis’s full-time President and CEO after having held
the role as a
volunteer since the organization’s inception in October
2003. IIBA,
a professional association for Business Analysts, focuses on
defining and
enhancing the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge®
(BABOK®) and
implementing a certification program for qualified
practitioners.
With over 25 years of experience in information technology,
Kathleen has held
many roles including most recently, managing offshore software
development work
for a large financial service organization. Her
involvement in the field
of business analysis began when she was asked to create a
centre of competency
for BAs for her company. She is experienced in CMMI and
benchmarking, and
through her many years of consulting, brings cross industry
knowledge to her
role at IIBA.

Chief Operating Officer, Dave
Bieg
In February 2010, Dave
Bieg became
International Institute of Business Analysis's first Chief
Operating Officer
after having held the role as a volunteer since June
2006.
With 28 years of
experience in business and information technology, Dave has
held many roles
including, operating his own consulting and facilitation
business where his
team provided knowledge transfer strategies and solutions to
achieve their
client's business objectives. Dave previously worked General
Electric and
Lockheed Martin, where he served as a Program Manager as well
as a Business
Analyst and Systems Engineer.
Dave holds a
MS in Business
Administration and Information Systems Management from Johns
Hopkins University
and is active in the greater Atlanta chapter of IIBA. Dave
resides in Marietta,
GA with his family where he volunteers his time to his
daughters soccer and
track & field activities

Michael Gladstone, CBAP, Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice
President
Michael Gladstone is Chief Information
Officer and
Executive Vice President
of International Institute of Business Analysis.
In his Certification role, Michael is responsible for the vision,
development and
management of IIBA's Certification programs. As CIO, Michael is
responsible for IIBA's
IT Applications and Infrastructure. Michael is also responsible for
relationships with
BA tool vendors as well as training providers.
Previously, Michael was Senior Manager, Business Analysis & Quality
Assurance at
Meridian Credit Union, responsible for developing the BA and QA
practices and overseeing
BA and QA activities across the organization. Michael is a graduate of
York University
with a BSc. in Computer Science and the Schulich School of Business with
an MBA.

Kevin
Brennan, CBAP,
Chief Business Analyst and Executive Vice President
Kevin Brennan,
CBAP, PMP, is the Chief Business Analyst and Executive Vice President for IIBA®. He led the development of Version 2.0 of The
Business Analysis
Body of Knowledge® (BABOK®
Guide) and was also
one of the authors of the CBAP exam. He is a frequent speaker
on business
analysis, project management, and software quality assurance
topics at
conferences. Kevin has over a decade of experience as a
business analyst and
project manager across several industry sectors, including
regulated
professions, utilities, automobile manufacturing, courier
services, and
mortgage banking. During this time he has performed just about
every task a
business analyst could be expected to do, from developing
corporate and product
strategies to being paged by end-users looking for technical
support. Kevin has
taught project management and requirements analysis at Humber
College, and has
a B.A. degree in History and Political Science from the
University of Toronto.
He is also a graduate of Second City's improv comedy
program.

Neil Bazley, Vice President
Chapters
Neil Bazley is a Business Analyst specializing in strategy, business process management (BPM) and organizational change management (OCM) with more than 15 years of industry experience, spanning multiple verticals and geographic locations. Drawing on over a decade of experience as a Business Analyst Neil provides value to his clients by focusing on the strategic issues of helping to make business decisions and improving performance through a framework that integrates business process and rules, business intelligence and decision and risk analysis.
Neil has had many roles with IIBA, including Calgary Chapter Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Calgary Chapter President, Chapter Start Up Co-ordinator, Deputy Vice President of Chapters and now the role of Vice President Chapters. Neil has a bachelor's degree in Commerce, a diploma in Object Oriented Software and a certification in BPM. He has lived and worked in Canada and the United States and is expanding his practice to include global consulting.

Ashish Mehta, CBAP, Director Emerging Markets, IIBA
Ashish is a Vice President and a Global Practice Head – Business Analysis at NTT DATA. With 16+ years of experience, Ashish has proven industry leadership in building and leading Business Analysis & IT Consulting organization along with the expertise in Strategic Management, Business Development and Quality.
Ashish is a CBAP and a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He has established a unique business analysis practice model for world’s 6thlargest IT services company, NTT Data and has led establishing Business Analysis Center of Excellence for fortune global clients of NTT Data. Ashish has managed highly complex business analysis assignments in the areas of Business Process Mapping / Reengineering, Application Portfolio Management, Forward Engineering, Reengineering and Reverse Engineering.
As part of the IIBA Leadership Team, Ashish has helped IIBA in numerous global initiatives including certifications, business analysis maturity and academic membership program. His efforts have resulted into exceptional expansion of IIBA in India in the areas of corporate and individual memberships, chapters and academic collaborations.
Ashish holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from H.P. University, India.

Director Latin America, Rafael
Dorantes, MBA, PMP
Rafael Dorantes, MBA, PMP,
(CBAP candidate Q2-2011),
is a Delivery Project Executive and a Certified Managing
Consultant with IBM Canada,
with twenty-two years of progressive experience consulting and
managing the
implementation of business solutions in domestic and
multinational projects.
He has hands-on experience with a variety of Business
Analysis, Project
Manager and Software Development methodologies and techniques.
His current
area of focus is the implementation of Offshore Development
Centers, where
he is putting to practice new emerging approaches to business
analysis.
Rafael is a member of IIBA’s Experts Advisory and Review
group for the BABOK, as
well as part of IBM’s Expert Panel which provides direction to IBM’s
worldwide
Project Management methodology. He also acts as VP of Education for
the Mexico
City Chapter of the IIBA.
As a member of the Rational Center of Competency, Rafael consulted
extensively in
Agile Development and Business Analysis, and contributed to a number
of best
practices initiatives with organizations such as the IBM’s Project
Management Centre of Excellence and Rational Software.
