Biographies of the Board of Directors

Alain Arseneault

Alain ArseneaultPosition on Board: Chair of the Board, member of the Executive Committee and member of the Nomination Committee (past chair)
Term: 2009-2012

Alain Arseneault is an energetic and results-driven Senior Management Professional with extensive experience in establishing and managing PM/SDLC strategies, principles and practices including Business Analysis with16+ year career with BMO Financial Group in various roles in both Business and I.T. groups.  Possesses advanced PM/SDLC knowledge, significant experience with accreditation/certification models, functional and resource management, cost and budget management.

Alain has been a volunteer for IIBA for over 5 years both on the operational side of the organization first as head of strategic development and then as VP of Marketing and Communications and for the last 2 years as a Board Director, currently as Chair of the Board and member of the Nomination Committee (and past chair) and the HR and Compensation Committee.  He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the PM / BA World Conference and serving as a member of the BA Executive Forum in Toronto.   Certification includes project management professional (PMP). He is also a member of the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP).

Michael Augello

Michael Augello

Position on Board: Director at Large

Michael is a nationally recognized IIBA® advocate in Australia where over the past several years he has combined his skills, experiences and passion for the BA profession to devote significant time to the IIBA Australia Chapter.  
2007-2010, Michael supported his local BA community to host regular IIBA events in Melbourne.
2008-2010, served as a Director with the Australia Chapter Board, focusing on Marketing and National Events.
In June 2010 he was elected to IIBA Global’s Board of Directors.
Michael continues to support the Melbourne IIBA branch and the local community presenting the IIBA value proposition to corporations, sponsors and other BA industry stakeholders.

Michael is a highly experienced consultant with strong interpersonal and well-defined skills in both business management and technology-based projects.   He has enjoyed success leading and coordinating teams in a range of roles including enterprise analysis, architecture, business process analysis, data analysis and requirement definition on numerous projects.
Currently, in a consultancy role, he performs the role of Lead Business Analyst at a leading Australian Health Services organization.

In 2004 Michael co-founded a highly successful specialist business and technical IT consulting firm, OptimiseIT, before its merger with Ingena Group Limited and subsequent listing on the Australian Stock Exchange.  
Michael has a Bachelor of Science, Major in Computer Science  from Monash University, and is a member of the , Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Michael is married with 3 children and maintains a relatively active lifestyle through many hours of cycling to work. Living in the “sporting capital of the world”, Michael enjoys all sporting activities.

Ken Fulmer

Term 2011 - 2015

Ken Fulmer is currently a management consultant and Interim CIO at Delek US. Ken was formerly the Chief Technology Officer at Sunoco, Inc.- Fortune 500 Oil Company. Ken had been with Sunoco for over 25 years, in various positions within the Information Technology field. His responsibilities as CTO included managing the Project Management Office (PMO), managing the IT planning and application architecture, and leading the practice area for Business Analysis.  Ken is deeply involved in Commercial Product and ERP implementations, Plant and Plant Maintenance systems, and Retail systems.  

Ken has an undergraduate degree from LaSalle University, and has an MBA from Clarion University. He also attended post graduate work at the MIT executive program, and he holds a PMP certificate in Project Management. Ken recently served as a Chair of the Advisory Board at LaSalle University department of Management Information Systems.  

Ken is a member of the board for Inspiritec, Inc. a non-profit which performs call centre services.  Ken is active with many local organizations including SIM, GPSEG, PMI, and IIBA.  Ken is the currently Chapter President for the Philadelphia Chapter of IIBA.  Ken is a frequent speaker on topics involving Enterprise Business Analysis, Technology and Non-functional requirements planning, and Business case methods. 

Ken Fulmer is on the Board of the IIBA and is on the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.

Sarah Gibson

Sarah GibsonSarah's CEO role encompasses governance, HR and finance of Redvespa – New Zealand's largest independent BA consultancy. Sarah's presidency of IIBA NZ for the last 2 years culminated in the Chapter being awarded inaugural IIBA Top Chapter. Sarah's knowledge of the BA industry, Asia Pacific region relationships and Board experience (high school, elite sporting boards and IIBA), will be invaluable to the IIBA Board.

Kathleen B. (Kitty) Hass, PMP

Kitty Hass

Position on Board: Chair of the Board Nomination Committee
Term 2009 - 2014

Kitty has served as an IIBA Director since 2008, and is serving her second term which will end in 2014.  Kitty is also Chair of the Board Nomination Committee. Kitty has served as the Chair of the Chapter Governance Committee and Chapter Council, and was member of the BABOK® Guide V 2.0 Committee, contributing to several chapters and leading the authorship of the Enterprise Analysis chapter.
  
Kitty is a recognized thought leader in the Business Analysis profession, a prominent keynote presenter at industry and corporate conferences, author, consultant, and workshop facilitator..  She is the president of KHass and Associates, Inc., a consulting practice specializing in strategic business practices, including enterprise business analysis, complex project management, and strategy execution through portfolio management. Her expertise includes implementing and managing PMOs and BACOEs, managing large complex programs, and leading groundbreaking PM and BA assessments.
 
Kitty is a member of the International Center for Complex Project Management Education Focus Group, member of the Capella University IT Advisory Council, developer and Instructor for the Villanova University Mastering Business Analysis Online Certificate Program, member of the University of California, Irvine Extension Business Analyst Certificate Advisory Board, and founding member of the Business Analysis Leadership Consortium.

Kitty has authored numerous white papers and articles on leading edge PM/BA practices, the acclaimed series entitled, Business Analysis Essential Library, a compilation of six titles on critical BA practices, the PMI 2009 Book of the Year, Managing Project Complexity - A New Model, and her newest book for Business Analysts: The Enterprise Business Analyst, Developing Creative Solutions to Complex Business Problems.

Brenda Kerton

Brenda KertonBrenda Kerton is a former IT practitioner, business analyst leader, project manager and company director, and currently the owner and principal consultant of Capability Insights Consulting. She is a founding member of IIBA and as Chair of the Body of Knowledge Committee led the group to the first version of The Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide). She is the author of several articles on business analysis, management of change and leadership. She acts as guide, coach and consultant to organizations that are striving to improve their people, process and leadership capabilities.

Elzbieta Klimczyk, CPA,CMA,PMP, CBAP

Elzbieta KlimczykAs a Professional Accountant and PMP, Elzbieta has experience in NFP sector and expertise in financial accounting, analysis, performance management and business process management.  She obtained Certification in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Certificate in Governance Essentials. She specializes in performance measurement helping strategic planners, board members and officers create and use meaningful performance measures.  Her projects are well known in Not-For-Profit industry. In addition to consulting directly with select clients, Elzbieta emphasizes on building an international network of Business Performance Measurement Practitioners, and providing them with the how-to knowledge, the confidence and professionalism to help their companies and clients to measure what matters.
She has served on several Boards of Directors as a Treasurer, Board Member and a chair of Finance Committee and provided strategic support contributing to a well-earned reputation for commitment to governance, strong financial management and integrity.

Jonathan Kupersmith,(Kupe), CBAP®

Jonathan KupersmithKupe possesses over 15 years of  experience in the business analysis industry. As B2T Training’s President Kupe is responsible for business operations, financial management, strategic growth, and international partner relations. He resides on a professional board providing leadership, financial and managerial guidance to peers.
 
Kupe was the first Atlanta IIBA Chapter President and served on the national IIBA Chapter Council.

Chuck Millhollan

Chuck Millhollan

Chuck is the Director of Program Management for Churchill Downs Incorporated and has over 25 years of experience in personnel and project management.  In addition to his work as a practitioner, Chuck develops curriculum and teaches for several accredited universities and contributed to Dr. Harold Kerzner’s texts, Project Management Best Practices: Achieving Global Excellence, 2nd Edition (February 2010) and Project Management Metrics, KPIs and Dashboards (August 2011).

Chuck serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the IIBA, is a senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), and an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Chuck earned his BS in Management in 1993 through Southern Illinois University, his MBA from the University of Florida in 2000, a MS in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin in 2003, and is a doctoral student with Syracuse University.

Indira (Indy) Mitra

Indy Mitra

Position on Board; Director and Past Chair

Ms. Mitra is Past Chair of the Board, and was Chair from 2009 to 2011 and Secretary from 2007 to 2009.  Indy has volunteered for IIBA as director since 2003.  As a founding member of IIBA, Indy has taken on major roles such as facilitating the not-for-profit incorporation of IIBA, and protecting the intellectual property of IIBA through registration of trademarks and certification marks.

Ms. Mitra is a Senior Business Consultant with Bank of Montreal (BMO) in Toronto, Canada.  At present, Indy is working at a program level as a release manager for the conversion of BMO retail and corporate credit card portfolios into a newly re-engineered system and processes.  Indy has worked in business analysis roles since graduating from the University of Waterloo in 1981. She has extensive experience working for consulting and financial companies, and has been with BMO since 1997.
Indy is a passionate advocate for the business analyst role and is thrilled to be actively involved in making a difference for the profession. Her vision is to build a strong governance board that represents and protects the interests of the members of IIBA.
 

Tony Tarantelli

Tony TarantelliTony Tarantelli, Partner at TWC International Executive Search, is an executive search consultant who has 26 years of experience in financial services with a major Canadian Bank in branch banking and human resources. His expertise as an HR Business Partner expands across financial services, having supported senior executives in retail & commercial banking, capital markets (Canada, USA, & Asia Pacific), corporate and institutional banking, wealth management, insurance, direct banking and technology development. He has also held senior roles in employee/industrial relations and leadership staffing & development

Tony has a track record for leading organizational redesign, improving managerial leadership, increasing employee retention and positively impacting employee engagement. He also has comprehensive knowledge in implementing talent development and succession planning programs. 

Tony is a member of the HRPYR and obtained his CHRP/CHRM designations from the University of Toronto’s advanced program in HR Management. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA).
