Level 3 - Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®)


This professional certification is for individuals with extensive business analysis experience.
Current professionals with their CBAP® designation will be grandfathered into this level.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Requires a minimum of 7,500 hours of work experience in the last 10 years
    1. Of this: a minimum of 900 hours in each of  4 of the 6 BABOK® Guide Version 3 Knowledge Areas
  2. Minimum of 35 hours of professional development in the last 4 years
  3. Two references from a career manager, client or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) recipient. View a sample of the e-mail sent to your references and the reference endorsement form.
  4. Agreement with the CBAP® Code of Conduct


In order to be admitted to the exam, please ensure that your IIBA® profile name matches your government identification.
The CBAP® exam is 3.5 hours long and consists of 120 multiple choice questions. The questions are case study-based (i.e. longer cases (1-1.5 pages) of information) with multiple questions about the case. It is competency-based and aligned with BABOK® Guide Version 3.
