These levels, that are competency-based and aligned with BABOK® Guide Version 3, are meant to guide career progression and do not need to be completed in order.

Recognizes individuals entering the field of business analysis.
Recognizes BA professionals who have 2-3 years  of business analysis experience.
Recognizes BA professionals who manage and  lead with over 5 years  of business analysis experience.

Recognizes BA professionals who advance the BA profession and have over 10 years of experience.
Exam results
With the September 2016 launch of the new certification exams, IIBA has been conducting a "passing standard study" to establish a cut score for passing the exam and reviewing its impact prior to releasing final results.
For those candidates who took the CBAP® exam from Sept 30, 2016 to Feb 28, 2017, you will receive your exam results by end of day March 31th.
For those candidates who took the CBAP® exam from March 1 to March 30, you will be receive your exam results by end of day April 5.
The release of exam results from March 31st onward will be communicated to exam candidates via email within 2 weeks from the date the candidate completes the exam.
Immediate scoring of CBAP® exams at testing centres will be available to candidates at the end of May 2017.
For the remaining candidates who have taken the new multi-level, competency-based exams, exam results will be communicated via email to candidates by the following dates:
  • Entry Level Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA) – April 30
  • Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA®) – April 30 
Exam results will include the pass/fail result as well as feedback on Knowledge Areas and topics covered on the exam. 
Retaking the exam
For all exam candidates who receive a fail result on the exam and, you have not yet had an opportunity to take the exam up to 3 times, as per our standard process, the Certification team will extend your application expiry by 6 months from the time you receive your exam result.  The certification team will contact you to provide your new application expiry date once your exam result has been communicated to you.
